Protaras is fine for those wanting a zesty time. I visit for peace and quiet but have eaten in many of the restaurants in the past and also had half board in the Hotel. Protaras is, for those not restricted by mobility, easily accessed and even at my age a leisurely stroll will make all it has to offer available if you so wish. Konnos Bay requires a car or bus ride but the walk down and up could be challenging especially in overbearing heat. Cape greko has its rugged side to it but nice. Protaras town itself has more than enough to occupy anyone if you like sun, sand and sea and tourist shopping / browsing and more places to eat and relax than you could possibly patronise in a 2 or so week holiday.

Protaras is amazing for beautiful beaches, some sandy and some pebbles. Stunning views and coastal walk. Lots of restaurants by the harbour. Not overly busy in May and possibility to do a few excursions on land and sea/mountains. You're 2h ISH from Paphos which may have more nightlife if that's what you're after.

I went to Protaras for work. I didn't like it.
I went to Protaras for work. I didn't like it. It is touristic and of poor quality in general. You don't feel like you are in Cyprus; it's just a resort. Many waiters and assistants in restaurants and stores are foreigners, and they don't speak a word of Greek!

This a very touristic place.
This a very touristic place. I was there 2 times, both in low season. In November the town is almost dead - no tourists, so, it is difficult to find a place to eat, but if you know where, it is a nice time to visit. The prices goes lower, beautiful beaches, nice hotels with spa. Highly recommend to visit in October-November.

An area that seems more British than Greek and sadly mostly closed up at the beginning of November apart from the pubs. The beaches are good with great swimming and snorkelling but extremely busy. Restaurants were generally disappointing although search hard and there are a few hidden taverns and coffee shops. Most buildings are concrete (not stone as in the villages, new build type), roads and transport links are good.

Great place for families or 30+ people.
Great place for families or 30+ people. It has plenty of good bars and restaurants but no under 30 craziness. You can get a drink at 2am but without any idiots. Never saw a drunk or out of control group in my 4 weeks there. If you want crazy go to Ayia Napa.
You want fun, friendly, beaches and a good evening life, go to Protaras.
We stayed in Maouris appartments from 12 till 23July! When you come ,first of all you are charmed by hospitality of Yiotis and Andri! From the first minute you feel like home! The pool is very nice and clean and the rooms, too! Mr .Maouris is very careful when the children are swimming! You are very close to the Fig tree beach,to the shops and to the main road! If you have some questions or need some information about Protaras everything is sold in no time!
Thank you Yiotis from all of us (Inga,Mariam,Haik and Van!)Love Cyprus!😍
Konnos bay gardens , is a beautiful low level rooms overlooking Konnos bay .To look from your balcony first thing in the morning gives you a feel that you are in Cyprus , with that certain feel ...The appts / rooms have all the facilitys you require , microwave , kettle , fridge , 2 ring hob ...but also to walk outside is the bus stop with a service every 30 mins to take you to the tourists spots of protaras , ayia napa , and a link to various parts of the island..larnaca , limasol etc ...Great stay of 12 days
This is the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed at - lovely staff, immaculately clean, great pool and unbelievable value for money. There's nothing flash about it but who cares, it's comfortable with a lovely vibe and run by a wonderful family 👏🏻
I stayed here 3 years ago and had a great time but this was even better, helping me have the best holiday I can remember 👌🏻
Wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Cyprus - will be returning here next year as soon as flights are released 😃
fantastic location, superb staff, from reception to the cleaners , the waiters , special mention to the fantastic Justine on the lobby bar, above and beyond, always has a smile and nothing is too much trouble no how busy , definitely the best hotel in Protaras, if not the entire East coast!!
Recommend for everyone, families, couples, solo travellers, everyone is made to feel welcome, thank you for a wonderful time
A very pleasant hotel. Great location, away from Ayia Napa and at the same time close to entertainment and the town of Protaras. Spacious and clean rooms, very comfortable bed, breakfast modest but sufficient and fresh. Pleasant à la carte restaurants. Nice outdoor space. Leveled garden with space for deckchairs and access to the sea. I am in Cyprus once a year and I will happily return to this hotel.
Great location. Awesome beach 2 mins walk from hotel. Lots of activities offered by hotel for free especially for kids. 10min drive to Protaras main center & 15mins drive to Aya Napa main center. Hotel is very family oriented. Staff is friendly & professional. I'd recommend renting a car from Larnaca Airport as public transportation is not very feasible in general.
We're a couple with a 3-year-old. We have an amazing time, the location was great, near the main street in Protaras. The food was the best we've had in a hotel - chef Andreas was very welcoming, always making the rounds at meals asking if we need something. We had such a great time we booked another stay at the end of August!
The breakfast was amazing! The Italian restaurant located in the hotel had many choices on their menu, and was very tasty from the appetizers up to main course to desserts. The location was ideal as it was right outside Protaras, so going to either Ayia Napa or Protaras was very easy.
very clean, modern boutique Hotel, food amazing, got a free upgrade to a family suite, best hotel I’ve stayed in protaras, plus best hotel in many stays I’ve had in other countries, will always go back there and recommend it to family and friends
Alessandro has a very nice apartment, the location is great and very quiet, the view is stunning and we will definitely recommend it further on.
If we will come back to Cyprus, we will want to stay again at the same place.
As always our stay at Silver Sands was above any expectations! Amazing! The best location ever, professional staff, tasty meals! Highly recommended! We will definitely come again! It's our favorite hotel in Protaras.
Great location to get around Protaras, the staff where all lovely and very helpful. The hotel was clean and had great facilities. Everything we needed for a lovely stay in Protaras whilst we were in Cyprus.
We had an amazing stay. Location of the hotel and the View was quite beautiful. Staff, specifically Jerry, was quite friendly and helpful. He gave us lots of information about the nearby sites to visit.
This place is right next to Fig Tree Bay beach. It is the best beach in Cyprus and probably in all of Europe! Konnos Beach is also close. Nice flat. Great value for money. Thank you!
Beautiful hotel! Brilliant hotel staff, excellent spa facilities, good all inclusive options (spirits, cocktails beers etc). Short walk to the beach nearby. Would highly recommend
